They wouldn't tell me where we were going. I was pleasantly surprised when we drove up to a contemporary dance theater on Queen Anne. Their co-worker, Jim, is a dancer who was performing that night in two of performances of the NW New Works Exhibition. It was fantastic!My favorite performance was an excerpt of the 605 Collective which was described in the brochure like this: "Performers dive and collide in a dance that transforms today's hyper-communication into a highly athletic contact sport." The choreography was a mix of hip-hop, martial arts and acrobatics.
Sometimes I wonder how modern dance choreographers think of this kind of thing. Aimee and Bethany said "drugs" simultaneously. I laughed.
