sunday, funday

Yesterday a guy came and spoke at my church. He had purposely become homeless just to test his faith in Jesus. After 5 months on the streets of numerous different cities in the east and west, he went home. Even though someone doesn't have a home, it doesn't mean they're unnatural in any way. People walking around town never care to stop by a homeless person on the street to talk. Some bums go weeks without having a conversation with anyone. I can't even imagine their feelings. I wouldn't be surprised if they just shouted their feelings just to get them out of their system.
This speaker told a story about when he was sitting on church grounds in front of the sanctuary in the morning with a buddy, when the church was preparing a public breakfast. The two friends hadn't had a decent meal in weeks. As they were just sitting there smelling that aroma of sausage and pancakes, a man walked toward them. He said "You guys can't be here. This is church grounds." and he walked into the sanctuary. They stayed where they were just to push it a little. When the man walked out of the building, he saw the two still sitting there. "I told you guys that you can't sit here. This is church grounds." They decided to push it just a little further and asked, "What are church grounds for?" This question irritated the man,"Church ground are church grounds, you can't sit here." With that, he walked away. The two left.
The next day, Sunday, they sat down in the same sanctuary for service. There was a 10 foot empty radius around them. After service as they were walking out, the man they met the day before ran up to them crying. The man hugged them and cryed, " I'm so sorry for what I did yesterday. That was so foolish. Please forgive me!" They replied, "Oh no, don't worry about it, we're so used to that by now."
"Well, thank you, but do you know the bad part? I'm head of the Homeless Outreach Organization."
They stood there staring.
" But you see, that's on Tuesdays."

I thought that was really funny. I learned a lot from it. After that ministry, my bible study group went around town and talked to some homeless people and gave them food. It was really touching. I'm so glad I was taught that lesson. Imagine, if everyone went around to with a bag of trail mix or energy bars in their pockets and gave to the hungry, there wouldn't be any hungry homeless people in the town. :)

God bless everyone.

Daylight savings

This day light savings thing always throws me off. Fortunately this year I had no major mishaps (except waking up at the "new" 9:00, thinking it was eight). Once when I was in about 3rd or 4th grade, when daylight savings was ending, I woke up at the new six, thinking it was seven, and panicking because I was going to be "late" for school! I made my lunch as fast as I could(faster than I ever had before) and struggled to eat my breakfast, which just happened to be the grossest food in the whole world(we won't go into details on how it literaly made me barf!). I ran outside and was about to cross the street to my friends' house who gave me a ride every morning, when my father yelled out to me to remind me daylight savings had just ended and everyone would be asleep right then. My whole family had been playing along with it the whole time, humiliating me. I came in crying and laughing at the same time. That was so embarassing then but I just laugh so hard now. haha

Another funny time mishap was when I went to bed the night before a very important event at about 8:00 pm. I did not sleep very well for the two hours I was in bed. I woke two hours later thinking it was 10:00 am, not even noticing the fact it was pitch black outside. I ran into my dad's office explaining my situation. He looked at me blankly and after I was finished with my fit, he gently explained the "real" time, 10:00 pm. :):):):):)!

So, I looked back on those events, laughing, and I say to myself, "Time is just another creation, among all others."

So I ask myself if time has ever been stopped. You know, anything's possible.
