Adventure

After the exhaustion of Crossfit, and boredom of sitting around, Acacia, and Chaurel agreed it was time for and adventure. We (Chaurel, Acacia, aimee, stefan and I) packed food, water, and jackets, climbed in to the Billy Mobile and headed for El Chorro park.I love this pic

Acacia led us to some childhood playspots and then we found a rock. it's amazing how a little boulder can keep one occupied for so long:)

Then Chaurel ran away so the rest of us ran after them. this hide 'n seek/tag went on for a few minutes until we found that they had gone up a big hill toward Eagle Rock, aka Aslan, which is the big boulder in the hills a half mile hike from the El Chorro campgrounds.


It was a lot more adventurous hiking off the trail:) the rock is at the far left(barely visible).

After hanging out on top of Aslan, eating a snack and absorbing the winter breeze, we heard a faint voice from Camp San Luis Military base. "You on the rock! You are trespassing private U.S. military property. Please get off the rock! Please get off the rock!" no Joke:) so we hiked down on the trail this time:)

at the base of the trail there was this awesome tree so we took some pictures;)


on the way hiking back to the car there was this pool of water a ways off the trail that my older sisters bathed in when they were little. it was full of pretty leaves:)we left El Chorro and decided to go to Montana de Oro to watch the sun set. But first we went to a bakery and bought an apricot pie.


then we hiked up to the dunes at MDO.

after eating pie, Chad, Aimee, and Stefan decided to hike back down and look at the tidepools.

Right before the sunset, the sun came out from behind the clouds and cast this bright light on us. we were in the perfect spot. it made me feel all warm inside:)

C, A, and S returned just in time to see the sun take it's place behind the horizon.

it was absolutely vwonderful:)

then we went home and slept, and woke up on christmas eve and went to church to hear a wonderful sermon on what Jesus did for me and you, and it made me smile and cry at the same time.
